1180 basic schools and other facilities in Western Region to disinfected
As part of efforts to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic on school campuses ahead of June 15 school reopening. The waste management giant Zoomlion Ghana Limited in partnership with the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC). They will reportedly embark on a mass disinfection and fumigation exercise in the region. GNA has reported.
The disinfection and fumigation exercise would benefit 13 military facilities. Also 11 tertiary institutions, and 1,180 basic schools both private and public.
The Western Regional Manager of Zoomlion. Mr. Abdulai Abdallah speaking at the launch disclosed that his team was using 60 sprayers and 50 motorized and knapsack spraying machines. Also with respect to the spraying of the military facilities with about 900 sprayers. This is for the spraying of the tertiary institutions and the basic schools
Futhermore, Mr. Abdulai Abdallah added that Zoomlion would bring other waste management partners on board. They will assist in the two-week intensive exercise.
The Western Regional Minister, Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah said the Regional COVID-19 Response Team was working day and night to curb the spread of the virus in the region as measures were put in place.
Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko is of the assurance that the waste management giant, Zoomlion Ghana limited would show off their best and urged for support from institutions and organizations for a successful disinfection exercise.
