After chasing her for months, you’ve finally scored a date with her and you feel amazing about the win. Only problem is, it’s almost time and you’re stuck. You don’t know what to wear.

It’s somewhat easier for a guy to figure out something to wear in like 30 minutes as compared to a woman but still. Guys will wear certain things because they’re in a rush and will eventually score 0 when it comes to first impressions.

Here are some tips for your first date.

1. No boring suit and tie

I mean it depends on the location of the date but suit and tie makes you look like you are boring and can feel stuffy. A date is supposed to be leisurely and carefree as you get to know each other. Wearing a suit and tie makes you look too serious and can be a put off for some ladies. If the date is during the week too, it might seem as if you didn’t put any effort into your looks. You just moved from the office straight to the date which isn’t really a good first impression

2. Wear clothes that fit

There’s nothing worse than seeing someone coming closer to you at the location where you and your date decided and they’re wearing clothes which are either too tight or too loose and you start hoping and praying that they’re not the one. Why do you even still have trousers that are hanging? Why do you have shirts that are so tight that it looks like one of the buttons will pop out?? Get clothes that fit. Not just for the date but for yourself. They make you look sharp and clean and attractive.

3. Leave your hoodies and shades in your wardrobe

Wearing this combination just makes it look like you’re on the run from something or someone. Wearing shades indoors make you look unapproachable and wearing hoodies just shows that you didn’t put much thought into the date. If it’s chilly outside, wear a shirt and a denim jacket over it to keep you warm.

 

4. Don’t bath yourself in cologne

Yes, you want to smell good and everyone says smelling good helps make a good impression but you don’t need to soak yourself in Cologne. It’s really annoying when your scent envelopes the whole atmosphere and it gets worse if your date/other people don’t like the smell. It can be embarrassing.

5. Pay attention to details

Make sure you iron and you iron every crease please especially on your shirt (if you’re bent on wearing one) and trousers. Make sure there isn’t any button missing and there’s no stain on what you’re wearing.
