Nigeria Cancel’s Plan To Participate In This Year’s WASSCE Exam
The Nigeria Minister for Education, Adamu has halted the planned resumption of federal schools. Particularly for final year students expected to sit for their WASSCE for school candidates in August 2020.
According to Mr. Adamu, Nigeria WASSCE candidates would not participate in the forthcoming WASSCE exams. Which is scheduled for next month August.
However, the Education Minister announced this to State House Correspondents at the end of a meeting of the Federal Executive Council presided over by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
He directed that all federal schools in Nigeria would remain shut until the unexpected situation is brought under control.
Mr Adamu Adamu entreated state governments that have announced for schools to reopen to cancel such plans.
The Education Minister stated that the African Examinations Council could not determine the resumption date of schools in Nigeria.
According to him, the government would prefer that Nigerian students lose an academic year than to expose them to the deadly novel coronavirus that has claimed at least 129 lives of the time writing this post.
