Voter Registeration For Eligible Final Year SHS Students Begins Tomorrow
The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced to embark on a 2-day registration exercise for all eligible Senior High School (SHS) students across the country.
The exercise is scheduled to start on Friday July 10 to July 11, 2020.
The EC however said additional days will be communicated. Also when it becomes necessary to ensure all eligible and qualified students are registered accordingly.
The Commission in a statement copied to Georgeweb.org said. The 2 days exercise will be conducted in all Senior High Schools. That do not have polling stations (registration centers) within the schools.
According to the EC, all eligible and qualified Senior High School Students who are 18 years and above can participate in the voter’s exercise. With either a National Identity Card (Ghana Card) or a Ghana Passport.
It however said in absence of these two documents. Eligible students can use two guarantors who have already registered as voters to guarantee.
The Electoral Commission says it will put adequate measures in place. Which will help ensure that all COVID-19 safety protocols outlined by the government are strictly adhered. Because students and registration officials lives matter to them.
Therefore, the Electoral Commission in the statement entreated all recognized Political Parties in the country to send their Agents to the centres.
