- Visit the WAEC result checker online portal.
- Once on the site, you will find a list where you are required to fill your personal details. Enter your Index number.
- There are various types of examinations that will appear. Select the BECE examination from the list.
- Enter your Exam year, for example, 2020.
- Write the serial number at the back of your scratch card.
- Fill the PIN (12 digits) found on the scratch card; for example, 018765432112.
- Confirm the correctness of your Index number and year of examination.
- Click on Submit and wait for the display in the popup window. This may take several seconds.

BECE 2020 school placement

- Type your 10-digit index number in the text box, e.g., 0987654321.
- Press send.

You need to ensure that there is no spacing between your digits. Also, note that the shortcode (1060) applies to all networks. If you experience difficulties with the process, add a two-digit suffix of your year of examination (last two digits, e.g. ..20) on your index number. For example, 098765432120.

Ahead of this year’s senior high school placement, the computerized school selection and placement system will be reviewed. This is to streamline the placement process, which will enhance the student placement process.
According to Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES), this process started May this year. It came before the beginning of the BECE exams.
BECE 2020 certificate
Apart from the online results, there are also certificates provided to successful candidates. This usually happens three months after BECE results release date. Then these certificates are sent to all schools so that individual candidates can easily collect them. Certificates are produced once. Hence, once lost or damaged after collection; they cannot be replaced.
According to Prof. Opoku, the review is supposed to correct the challenges faced during the previous year’s placement process. This will ensure that the process is conducted appropriately and smoothly. This year’s student will be the third batch of students to reap the fruits of the free SHS program that was initiated from the 2018/2019 academic year.
