SHS Students Did Not Contract COVID-19 From School – Rev. Owusu Bempah
Ghana’s popular preacher man Reverand Isaac Owusu Bempah says. There is no clear evidence spiritually and physically indicating that students who have tested positive for the locally transmitted coronavirus contracted it from their school.
The founder and leader of Glorious Word Ministry International. Isaac Owusu Bempah comments follow claims by some individuals and the opposition NDC party. That students who have tested positive for the novel virus contracted the disease from the school.
For the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). They believe students contracted the killer disease from their various schools. Because of the Akufo-Addo’s government improper measures. Which not put in place before the partial reopening of schools for the final year students in the country.
Amidst the surge in coronavirus cases in some Senior High Schools (SHS). Some pressure groups, Parent Teacher Association and the Minority NDC Caucus in Parliament. Where they are calling for an immediate closure of schools across the country.
But the preacher man reacting to allegations on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show. Being monitored Georgeweb.org, argued that the final year students moved about freely to shopping malls and markets. When they were at home, making it possible for them to have contracted the virus.
To him, there is no concrete evidence to prove that those students infected with the virus contracted it from their various schools as many are speculating.
Also, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah stressed that schools are limited places with restricting in movement. As compared to the students stay at home during the temporal school break. Roaming freely without any restrictions.
Moreover, he said an impression should not be created that the Coronavirus was waiting for the final year students on campus, Maintaining the possibility that those final year students who have tested positive to the virus might have taken it to school.
However, he founder and leader advised that instead of creating such unnecessary impressions Ghanaians should rather be showing the final year students how to protect themselves from contracting the virus.
Therefore, Isaac Owusu Bempah in line with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) recommended that the best way out for Ghanaians to stay safe is to strictly adhere to the coronavirus safety protocols outlined by the Health Service which includes regular handwashing with soap, wearing a face mask, observing social distancing and use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
