UCC Comm. Skills Group 3 Students Appreciate Teaching Assistant With Portrait
The Communicative Skills (CS) Group Three 3 students of the University of Cape Coast surprised their Teaching Assistant, Mr. Isaac Newton Nyatuame, with a nice portrait made of him.
As part of efforts to show their appreciation to the Teaching Assistant for his passionate and selfless commitment to impart in them knowledge. The class thought it wise to surprise Mr. Nyatuame with a portrait made of him.
However, as a surprise gesture, the group presented a very nice portrait made without the knowledge of Mr. Nyatuame and presented to him at an exclusive occasion held on Friday 25th September, 2020, at Lecture Theatre (LT 20). The occasion saw several group members in attendance to honor the occasion.
In one voice, the entire class says “GOD BLESS YOU” for taking CS Group Three 3 throughout the 2019/2020 academic year.
Moreover, presenting the portrait to the Teaching Assistant, the Course Representative, Isaac Adotey (popularly known as Romeo), appreciated the Teaching Assistant for the time he spent in helping the class throughout the semester.
“Despite the ups and downs, our troubles and stubbornness, he was there with us to make sure we are fully prepared for the end of semester examinations. His periodic tutorials were impactful and helpful, and helped us a lot,” the Course Rep added.
Having seen the portrait, Mr. Nyatuame was amazed and became speechless for the gesture shown him by the group. According to him, in his three years of assisting in teaching CS, he has never received anything of such magnitude. He appreciated the group for their profound gratitude and warm gestures showed him. He further took the opportunity to admonish the students to take the advantage of the opportunities that exist in the university and hard assiduously for their academic excellence. “I urge you to make good use of every opportunity you have at this university,” he further added.
Also, Mr. Nyatuame is a hardworking young man. Who is driven by the desire to impart knowledge and to see students succeed in their academic endeavors. He was a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Communication Studies. University of Cape Coast, during the 2017/2018 academic year. And, periodically, he assist in the teaching of Communicative Skills in his former department.
During his Teaching Assistantship at the department. He was adjudged the Most Outstanding Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Arts Dinner and Awards’ Night organized by Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA) in April, 2018.
Currently, he is an MPhil student in the School for Development Studies, University of Cape Coast. He is also working on a project – Advocacy for Children’s Right Protection and Empowerment (ACRiPE). To help improve the lives of children in rural communities in Ghana.
