The school placement of candidates who sat for the 30th edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), will be out after celebration of 2020 Christmas, probably early 2021, the Ministry of Education has said.
Mr Kwesi Obeng Fosu, the Public Relations Officer for the Education Ministry (MoE) disclosed this speaking on the Accra-based Adom 106.3 FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show monitored by Georgeweb.org.
His comment comes after the Management of the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) Thursday, December 16, 2020, announced has released the 2020 provisional BECE results online at https://ghana.waecdirect.org.
“The results just came in and so we want to urge parents to take it easy. They should not be thinking about placement for now. We have more days ahead, for now, I want to urge parents to wait till we celebrate Christmas and afterwards we will bring all the necessary details they require,” he said
The Ministry’s spokesperson noted that the school placement forms are expected to be first completed by candidates respective Junior High Schools before the Education Ministry starts the school placement process.

“Now the academic calendar has changed and continuing students will be the first to go when school resumes and so it is important that we wait for all the processes to be completed”, he told host of Dwaso Nsem show.
According to Kwesi Obeng Fosu, his outfit is working hand in hand with the Ghana Education Service on the placement adding that “so let’s not rush for placement now.”
