A spokesman for the Education Ministry says all technical challenges with the Computerised School Selections and Placement System (CSSPS) has been addressed, hence no SHS placement challenges are expected this year.
Mr Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News monitored by Georgeweb.org indicated that unlike 2019 that the school Placement System was compromised, it will not be the case this year.
The system breach which the Ministry attributed to hackers ended majority of parents gathered at the Black Star Square to demand SHS placement for their wards since the online process was not functioning properly.
Mr Nkrumah Boateng, however, noted his outfit this year has addressed all the placement challenges confronting the CSSPS module and that there will be no cases of a system breach throughout the process next year January.
“What we have done this time around is that after you chose the schools, we have put in a verification system along the lines of what the Electoral Commission does where you can send a text to a certain number to confirm the school that you have chosen,” he told host of Eyewitness News.
In addition, with for the self-placement portal, “now we have removed the restrictions so you can go back and change it [your choice],” Rodney added.

The spokesperson furthered that with these two measures in place the Ministry is expecting a difficulty-free placement of the 2020 candidates who sat for the 30th edition of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
