Prof. Mike Ocquaye And Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh Receive Honorary Doctorate Degrees From UEW
Speaker of Ghana’s 7th Parliament, Rt. Rev. Prof. Aaron Micheal Ocquaye and the Energy Minister, Hon. Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, have been conferred with honorary doctorate degrees at the University of Education, Winneba.
The honour was intended to recognize these distinguished individuals for their enormous contributions to education and the state as a whole.
These two have joined the renowned individuals who have received the prestigious award, bringing the University’s total number of honorary degree holders since 2004 to 23.
In his acceptance speech, Rt. Rev. Prof. Aaron Micheal Ocquaye said he believes the honour given him will serve as a greater call to serve the country.
He promised to make a great contribution to the school.
“This is a call for greater commitment and service to our country. I’ve come to learn that it is not enough to have a great idea, you need to impact lives practically and positively,” he stated.
The event took place on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre at the University of Education, Winneba.
