MOE To Conduct Standardised Test To For Primary 2, 6 Randomly
Ministry of Education (MoE) after announcing to administer a national standardised test for primary four students nationwide has said a standardised test will also be conducted for basic two and four students randomly.
The Minister for Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum announced this speaking on behalf of the Education Ministry in an interview with the Accra-based Asaase 99.5 Radio monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh on Wednesday.
“We are doing a randomized sample assessment for primary 2 and primary 6 students, so we are selecting such student across the country to test them, those are random and not a census,” the Education Minister stated.
According to him, there will be a nationwide national standardised test census for primary 2, 4 and 6 students.
The test forms part of efforts to improve learning outcomes and reduce learning poverty and help the government see the challenges that are confronting the country’s education sector.
Yaw Osei Adutwum indicated the test will also generate reports which will detail the challenges facing the education system across the country in the areas of literacy and mathematics.
