Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum Wednesday presented citations to 7 Senior High Schools in the Central region whose students performed outstandingly in the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The citations went to the 10 % out of the 76 Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the region who scored the highest marks cumulatively in eight subjects from A1 to C6 in last year’s WASSCE for School exams.

The Education Minister in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said the presentation of the citations is aimed at motivating the top rating schools to continue working very hard to improve on their academic records.

Wesley Girls SHS was rated the top-performing Senior High School (SHS) in the Central region followed by St Augustine. St Theresa’s Seminary placed 3rd with the 4th and 5th positions going to Holy Child and Mfantsipim.

The honours for 6th and 7th positions went to Ghana National College and Besease Ejumako SHS respectively.
