Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland has enjoyed part of the off-season on a lavish holiday on the island of Mykonos – and his latest escapade reportedly saw him spend €500,000 at a restaurant before leaving a €30,000 tip.
Haaland, who is believed to earn around £140,000 per week at his club, has been afforded some valuable time off after Norway failed to qualify for Euro 2020, and there is no doubting that he has celebrated in style.
Greek sports newspaper Sportime have claimed the hefty charge for his meal, which equates to an eye-watering £430,000, was racked up over the course of five hours and that the staff were also handsomely rewarded.
The £26,000 tip works out at six per cent of the overall cost, below the recommended 10 per cent, but Haaland partied the day away regardless with some expensive champagne and food.
Alongside some company, Haaland had headed to Nammos, a sleek complex by the beach made up of a luxury shopping area, a seafood restaurant and a bar filled with dozens of sun loungers.
The hotspot is described as a ‘meeting place’ for celebrities on the island, with Haaland the latest to take in the experience. While he did so, four bottles of Cristal Vintage were consumed, as well as plates of delectable meals.
The overall figure is said to have been totalled up from the dinner, a luxury rented car and the tip.
Haaland was also snapped during his quality time away on a yacht, and certainly made an impression with his striking ‘watercolour’ outfit.
He was seen basking in the sunshine out at sea while surrounded by bikini-clad women, and sported the outrageous Louis Vuitton outfit – which is estimated to cost a huge £2,250 altogether.
Included in the ensemble were a £695 multi-coloured shirt, swim shorts worth £590, a £545 monogram bucket hat and £420 mules.
He was seen chatting away with other partygoers on the yacht, and was later spotted in a separate boat with friends before heading back to one of the island’s picturesque beaches.
The transfer rumourmill was sent into overdrive during his trip with Haaland seen in the same bar as Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez.
The two were caught on camera dancing and waving napkins in the air in a relaxed atmosphere.
Having seen the video online, Mahrez re-posted it on his Twitter page alongside the caption, ‘Agent Mahrez on duty’. He later clarified he was ‘just having fun’.
Sportsmail has reported that Chelsea have opened talks over a move for Haaland, meanwhile, although the club accept it may prove difficult with Dortmund unwilling to sell their star forward.
Haaland is believed to be keen to take the next step in his career, having starred in the Bundesliga after moving from Red Bull Salzburg, but the full cost of the switch may be close to £170million.
