TEIN-UCC DISPLEASED AS THE VICE PRESIDENT IGNORES THE ONGOING STRIKE
The vice president H.E. Dr Bawumia visited the tescon unit of ucc on saturday the 7th of august, 2021.
instead of addressing the strike that is affecting the tertiary students as he is supposed to, he was only interested in lacing his political boots.
They fear that the ongoing strike will affect the hostel rent as landlords may see it as an opportunity to increase it. also, it may be a problem to the level 400s as they have to begin their national service. It may also affect the travel plan of some students if not called off soon.
They claim it is lack of respect for the UTAG as the government body is refusing to fulfill their obligations to them but instead, they’re increasing the president’s and other ministers’ salary by 79% and 50% respectively.
They therefore call on the NUGS-National to persuade the government of the nation to respond to the needs of the UTAG as soon as possible.
