Examine Students With Classwork Not WAEC Exam – Kofi Asare To MoE
Mr Kofi Asare following the ‘not ending soon’ leakages of the ongoing WASSCE for School questions has called on the Ministry of Education to certify final year students with classwork and ignore examinations conducted by WAEC.
His suggestion comes after the 2021 WASSCE General Mathematics paper administered Monday, September 20, 2021, leaked on various social media platforms hours before the administration of the paper scheduled at 8:30 Am.
The Executive Director of Education Think Tank – Africa Education Watch (EduWatch) in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said “I am so disappointed! I think we are better off using classwork to certify students.”
“We jubilated at the news of the arrest of the kingpin behind Jerusalema, one of the apo selling platforms only to realize the platform published free math apo with answers today,” the Education Economist added in his post.
But, a deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, says the 2021 WASSCE Physics and Business Management papers were not rescheduled by the West African Examinations Council because they leaked on social media.
According to Yaw Opoku Mensah, the conduct of the two WASSCE papers originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, 2021, were postponed to investigate portions of the examination questions that went online.
“If you say a paper leaked, what it means is we sat for the paper, then what you have in your hand compared to what the student sat to do is the case. We never saw the paper, nobody sat for the paper,” he stated in an interview.
