The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) says the 2021 BECE School results of candidates who sat for the 31st edition of the national examination are expected to be released hopefully late this year or early 2022.
Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa in an interview with Accra-based UTV monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh said the BECE for School results when released as planned will help his outfit release the JHS graduates school placement on time.
According to him, the Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has scheduled to release the 2021 SHS placement of candidates who sat for the 2021 edition of the BECE for Private and School in early January 2022.
“So after a successful completion of the 2021 BECE, we have urged WAEC to release the BECE school results latest by December this year so that we can by early January 2022 release the SHS placement,” the Director-General stated.
The Member of the WAEC Council, however, said the release of the BECE School results may be delayed amid the outbreak of coronavirus. “If that happens it will also affect the release of the 2021 SHS placements,” he noted.
A total of 571,894 candidates representing 287,605 males and 284,289 females from 18,028 various public and private Junior High Schools (JHSs) across the country registered for the national examination administered by WAEC.
