Khan Issahaku Jambeidu, the current Upper East Region Coordinator of the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO), has bluntly told trainees that there’s no way they would enjoy this year’s Christmas.
He said it’s true that allowance meant for them has not been forthcoming but it would soon be shared after Christmas.
Mr. Jambeidu further sympathized with the affected young men and women while stating categorically that their stipends would drop next year, all things being equal.
In an interview with Samuel Mbura on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East in Bolgatanga, he’s quoted as saying;
“As you are aware, we are experiencing an unusually long delay in the payment of stipends. We have not yet paid, which is a source of concern for us. But we’re always up to the challenge and working on it.”
He stated that the trainees owing stipends for September, October, November, and December will be paid as soon as possible.
The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) is a government project aimed at addressing graduate unemployment and addressing societal issues.
The initiative’s main goals will be to improve public service delivery in the areas of health, education, agriculture, technology, and governance, as well as to increase revenue mobilization and collection.
