The Minister for Education, Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum as the 2021 academic year comes to an end has said the country in the next academic year starting January 2022 will witness innovations in the education sector.
Dr Adutwum a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh on Saturday commended teachers, students and stakeholders for their support, dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions in shaping the future of our dear country.
“Have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season with your friends and family and let’s get ready for the New Year ahead with innovations in the education sector for socio-economic transformation,” the Education Minister stated.
As part of efforts to improve education in the country, the Minister for Education has said the National Teaching Council (NTC) next year will launch a portal to help teachers to sit for the 2022 edition of teacher licensure exams.
The National Teaching Council (NTC) web portal, Mr Osei Yaw said will be loaded with past or thousand’s of sample questions of the Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) for candidates to practise before they take the test.
“I have instructed the National Teaching Council (NTC) to create a web portal with thousand’s of sample questions for people to have the opportunity to practice and use to prepare to sit for the national examination,” the Minister noted.
The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament in an interview also disclosed the government in due course will distribute free pickup cars and buses to TVET institutions that have been added to the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy
“Buses are ready to be distributed to the various public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools added to the flagship Free SHS policy, President Akufo-Addo wants everybody to enjoy Free education,” he noted.
The Education Minister further revealed Management of the Government Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the country will be given pickup cars for the day to day administration of the school.
“What the President did for Senior High Schools sometime ago, he is going to do same for the TVET schools, they will also have their buses. All TVET students are now part of the Free SHS program,” Mr Yaw Adutwum said on Thursday.
