The Bono Regional Health Director is asking for opportunity to recruit staff without waiting for the central government.
The Director of Health Services, Dr. Kofi Amoah-Kodieh is of a strong opinion that given right by the government for hospitals in the country to employ will help quality healthcare delivery in the region.
“I dare say Ghana Health Service for that matter the Bono Regional Health Service should be given the right to engage its own staff and not rely on staff posted to it from the Ministry of Health, whether those staff are really needed or not”, he stated at the 2021 Annual Performance Review held at Sunyani.
According to the Regional Health Directorate, Bono is understaffed in terms of health personnel and something must be done about it immediately
“Even though the knowledge abounds in the gaps of the staff mix for the Bono Region, the Region is inundated with engagement of staff who are already in the surplus at the disadvantage of other critical staff”, the Regional Director stated.
