In a related development, Mr Osei Yaw following the unsatisfactory performance of candidates who sat for 2021 WASSCE for School in some subjects has vowed to improve the pass rate for WASSCE mathematics this academic year.

“Actually the average is 60% certain subjects rate went up, others dipped but if you put in average is still 60%. So if you look at English and Maths, for example, there was a dip but Integrated Science saw a huge jump,” he stated.

The Education Minister furthered that “I want to assure you that Mathematics should not see a dip in my time as somebody who is Mathematician, we are going to look at what went wrong and see what we can do.”

The Teaching Minister assured that increasing the pass rate of WASSCE for School English Language and Mathematics in this academic year will guarantee a higher rate of entry into various public universities in the country.
