African championship: Rose Amoanimaa wins Ghana’s first Gold Medal
Ghana’s high jumper Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah has won the country’s first gold medal at the ongoing 2024 African Athletics Championship in Cameroon.
The defending champion and African Games Gold medalist scaled a height of
1.87m to grab Ghana’s first gold at the 2024 AAC in Women’s High Jump.
The 22-year-old who had already booked her ticket to the 2024 Summer Olympics looks set with this compelling record of achievements to her accolades.
Rose Yeboah scaled the Olympic Standard height of 1.97m to qualify for the Olympics in a grand style at the NCAA Games in the United States of America. Breaking a long-standing record at the NCAA.
But prior to her qualification, Rose Amoanimaa jumped the bar at 1.91m at the African Games, which was hosted in Ghana at the Legon Stadium, where she defended her title as the 2019 gold medalist in Rabat Morocco.
