Mahama says when he is elected his administration will conduct audit of all mining concessions
The presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama says when he is elected as President in December 2024, his administration will conduct a comprehensive audit of all mining concessions across the country and establish their owners.
He noted that the audit would not only cover the concessions themselves but also identify the owners behind them.
The NDC leader explained that the purpose of this audit would be to ensure that those granted mining concessions are held accountable for any illegal mining activities that have occurred on their lands.
He made this statement during what he named, a “worship with the clergy” in Accra on Tuesday [October 1, 2024] as part of his campaign for Election 2024.
