Ghana’s Vice President calls on African countries to unite and prioritize Infrastructure development

The Vice President of Ghana, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemany has urged African countries to unite and prioritize Infrastructure development as a means to foster economic growth and prosperity across the continent.
Addressing participants at the the opening ceremony of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2025 at the Accra International Conference Center, she emphasized a single market and economic integration.
She pointed to Ghana’s investments in energy Infrastructure aimed at providing reliable affordable power to industries and households as a prime example of how Infrastructure can unlock economic potential.
The Vice President highlighted the importance of modernizing digital Infrastructure, expanding transportation network, and enhancing energy capabilities.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemany commended the Africa Network and the AfCFTA Secretariat for creating a platform that fosters collaboration among leaders from across the continent.
Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the Africa Prosperity Network Advisory Council, underscored the necessity of empowering African women to realize the continent”s full potential, “Women are not just contributors to economic growth: they are the foundation of sustainable ,” she asserted.
The Africa Prosperity Dialogue serves as a platform for leaders to discuss strategies for economic integration and prosperity.This year’s theme, ” Delivery Africa’s Single Markets Through Infrastructure ,” resonates with the vision of Africa’s founding fathers and mothers and reflects Ghana’s commitment to continent unity.
The conference has attracted over 3,000 delegates from 46 countries, including seven African heads of state, focusing on strategies to enhance women’s access to finance, markets, and technology, as well as initiatives supporting their participation in politics and business.
The Africa Prosperity Dialogues pledges to promote initiatives that empower women economically, reinforcing the vital role they play in driving the continent’s transformation and prosperity.
